Best spots to eat in the East: Sinfoodie review
Sinfoodie
Hidden at Blk 412 Bedok North Ave 2, Sinfoodie is a spot where you can get good quality delicious meals at afforable prices! It's packed with SO many different stalls, meaning you can get everything from Taiwanese teppanyaki and Thai basil rice to nasi lemak, Hokkien mee and bak chor mee all in one place.
What We Ordered
We tried 5 different stalls during our visit, and honestly, there wasn't a single one I wouldn't order from again.
1. Kiang Kiang Taiwan Teppanyaki π° $5 β $13.50 Β· β 9/10π° $5 β $13.50 Β· β 9/10
First up was Kiang Kiang, serving Taiwanese-style hotplate teppanyaki.
The portions here were super huge and generous. We got their chicken hotplate, which came sizzling with noodles, corn and egg. The chicken was incredibly juicy and tender, covered in a rich savoury sauce that went so well with the pasta as well. With everything served piping hot on the sizzling plate, this was such a comforting meal.
2. Shiok Hokkien Mee π° $6 β $10 Β· β 9.5/10π° $6 β $10 Β· β 9.5/10
Shiok Hokkien Mee serves an incredibly saucy, umami-packed plate of Hokkien mee with a seriously strong wok hei aroma. The noodles had absorbed so much of that rich seafood broth while remaining incredibly flavourful, and ours came loaded with juicy prawns and other ingredients.
If you're someone who prefers the wetter, saucier style of Hokkien mee, you're going to LOVE this. Definitely a must-order!
3. Basil King π° $6.90 β $11.90 Β· β 9.2/10π° $6.90 β $11.90 Β· β 9.2/10
If you love Thai basil rice, Basil King is a MUST TRY. i tried their basil chicken rice and the chicken had a super strong wok hei flavour which i loved! You can also customise your spice level depending on how much heat you can handle.
We paired ours with and their speciality eggs as well, which were fried to perfection, and with orange runny yolks π€€ Once the yolk was broken and mixed into the spicy, savoury minced meat and rice, every bite became extra rich and creamy.
4. Nasi Lemak Ayam Taliwang π° $5.90 β $9.90 Β· β 9/10π° $5.90 β $9.90 Β· β 9/10
Next was Nasi Lemak Ayam Taliwang (halal), which is also featured in the Michelin Guide. The chicken was super juicy and tender, coated generously in a spicy, flavour-packed sambal.
But what really brought everything together was the fragrant coconut rice. Each plate also comes with all the familiar nasi lemak essentials, like crispy ikan bilis, peanuts, cucumber, egg and sambal. Such a satisfying plate of nasi lemak, especially if you love your chicken with a little kick.
5. San Xiang Bak Chor Mee π° $4 β $7.50 Β· β 9/10π° $4 β $7.50 Β· β 9/10
Finally, we tried San Xiang Bak Chor Mee. This spot is also featured on the Michelin Guide!
The springy noodles were tossed in a savoury, slightly spicy sauce and absolutely loaded with ingredients such as minced pork, pork slices, liver, meatballs and crispy beancurd skin (as seen in image below).

There was so much meat that we were pleasantly surprised considering the price. Mix everything together and you get a really hearty, satisfying bowl of bak chor mee that we'd happily come back for.
Overall Thoughts
This is exactly the kind of coffeeshop I'd come back to repeatedly because there's always something different to eat.
And considering most of what we tried was comfortably under $10, it's definitely value for money :) If you're staying in the East, do save this spot !!
Would I Return? 100% yes :p
