Awfully Chocolate

If you're a chocolate lover, Awfully Chocolate’s weekend brunch buffet would be heaven for you. From rich chocolate desserts to savoury brunch mains and even a yoghurt bar, there’s honestly a lot more variety than I expected.

Here’s everything I tried and what stood out.

What We Ordered

Starting off strong, the star of the show is definitely the Chocolate Raclette IMAGE 2026 03 07 21:03:01

Each person gets only one crepe, and you get to scoop your own chocolate off the Raclette!! This was so decadent and absolutely delicious.

Moving on...

Brunch Main

Each person gets 1 brunch main, and I went with the Portobello Risotto (8/10). IMAGE 2026 03 07 21:03:23

It’s made with barley instead of rice, which gives it a slightly nuttier bite. The portion was pretty satisfying but still light enough that you can save space for the rest of the buffet.

The other main that absolutely stole the show was the Braised Beef Pie (10000/10).

The beef cheek inside was insanely tender and flavourful, paired with creamy mash on the side. If you go, please order this.

Chocolate & Dessert Section

Naturally, Awfully Chocolate doesn’t disappoint when it comes to chocolate.

The Brownies (10/10) were incredibly rich and decadent, exactly what you'd expect from a place known for chocolate. The Stacked Chocolate Cake (9/10) was another highlight, with layers of deep chocolate flavour that weren’t overly sweet.

There’s even a chocolate tap, which feels like a dream if you’re someone who loves drizzling chocolate over everything.

Other desserts I tried: IMAGE 2026 03 07 21:03:16

  • Chocolate truffles (10/10)
  • Creme brûlée cream puff (9/10)
  • Creme brûlée croissant (9/10)
  • Apple pie (8/10)
  • Lemon meringue tart (8/10)
  • Carrot cake (9/10)

There were also fresh fruits (7/10) if you want something lighter in between all the chocolate.

Savoury Bakes & Pastries

The savoury section was surprisingly extensive too. IMAGE 2026 03 07 21:03:04

Some of the highlights:

  • Bread & butter pudding (9/10)
  • Truffle egg mayo tart (10/10)
  • French onion éclairs (8/10)
  • Quiche with spinach mousse (8/10)
  • Mushroom focaccia (7/10)
  • Cocoa focaccia (7/10)
  • Sausage roll (7/10)

There were also some more interesting bites like crispy polenta pork cake (9/10).

And if you enjoy donuts, the sour cream donuts (9/10) and smoked cheesy bacon donut (9/10) were both really good.

Hot Brunch Items

The buffet also had some warm brunch staples:

  • Crispy bacon (8/10)
  • Cheese sausages (9/10)
  • Tater tots (8/10)
  • Scrambled eggs (9/10)
  • Spanish omelette (9/10)
  • Brussels sprouts & carrots (7/10)

Good options if you want something savoury before diving back into desserts.

Yoghurt Bar

Another fun surprise was the Yoghurt Bar, where you can customise your bowl with different toppings.

Flavours available:

  • Biscoff yoghurt (9/10) which was super cinnamony and really good
  • Strawberry yoghurt (8/10) which was nice and nice and tart
  • Plain yoghurt (8/10)

There were also tons of toppings and condiments to mix in.

Overall Thoughts

As a HUGE chocolate lover, this was a dream come true. But... i had to stay away from chocolate for awhile after this buffet 🤣

Would I go again? Definitely. But maybe not too soon :p
