What We Ordered
French Onion Soup
Price $18Rated 9/10
This was excellent. Rich, comforting, and loaded with cheesy goodness, it really delivered. The only reason it is not a full 10/10 is the slightly steeper price. Taste wise though, it absolutely holds up. The broth had that deep savoury onion sweetness you want, and the cheese pull was very satisfying.
Demi Poulet
Price $21Rated 9/10
Their specialty grilled chicken was a standout. Fresh off the grill, it was juicy, tender, and flavourful throughout. The skin had a nice golden char while the meat stayed moist. Simple, hearty, and very well done.
Steak & Unlimited Frites
Price $48Rated 9/10
The steak was cooked to a perfect medium and was tender, juicy, and nicely seasoned. Not chewy at all. The real highlight though was the bottomless fries. They were crispy, fresh, and constantly refilled, which made them very easy to keep reaching for.
The set also includes dessert:
Mango Dessert
Rated 9/10(Included in the $48 steak frites set)

Creamy, refreshing, and light, this worked really well after the richness of the steak and fries. Fruity without being overly sweet, so it felt like a nice palate cleanser rather than an afterthought.
Côtes de Porc
Price $24Rated 9/10
These pork ribs were incredibly tender and barely needed chewing. The portions were generous too, with thick meaty cuts that made the price feel reasonable. A solid option if you are sharing with the table.
Filet Meunière
Price $31Rated 8/10
The flounder was firm and meaty with a pleasant bite, and the lemon butter sauce paired nicely with it. The citrus helped cut through the richness, so the dish still felt light enough overall. Simple, classic, and well executed.

And we cannot not mention their iconic mashed potatoes. Smooth, buttery, and indulgently creamy. Better than your local KF*? haha.
Mousse Au Chocolat
Price $14Rated 9/10
They also serve the super viral tableside chocolate mousse. Watching it get scooped and plated right in front of you definitely adds to the experience. It was creamy, rich, and chocolatey without feeling too cloying. A satisfying way to end the meal.
Overall Thoughts
This cosy restaurant in town offers 2 course meals from $25 by a 2 Star Michelin chef, and overall it was a hit for us. Portions are generous and the flavours are very much up our alley.
Would I return? Absolutely! Especially for the French onion soup and steak frites. And maybe, just maybe, another round of bottomless fries. :p

Barrio: Good Spanish Food in a Quiet Neighbourhood
Barrio leans more modern Spanish than old-school, and the Iberico pork paella was easily the standout for me. It’s in a quieter neighbourhood too, which made the whole meal feel a lot more relaxed than the usual city dinner spot.
